We are looking for an Quality Technician based at our Basildon site working 38 hours per week on the following shift pattern: 06:00 – 14:00 / 12:00 – 20:00.
Overview of the position
As the Quality Technician you will be responsible for daily operations of the QC laboratory, physical testing of various raw materials, semi-finished and finished product samples manufactured on this site or others. You will also be responsible for the maintenance of results recording systems including SAP, e-IMS and spreadsheets as required.
You will be accountable for the on-going equipment checks and calibration as deemed necessary for existing or new devices, including those used within the production areas and maintenance of relevant records, and resolve any issues with equipment failures.
Responsibilities of our Quality Technician
Awareness of Company management systems;
Involvement and engagement with the Kingspan culture
Reporting accidents, incidents and events
Cooperating with management on continual improvement programs
High level of process understanding underpinned by working in compliance with relevant policies, procedures and risk assessments
Involvement in the development and review of risk assessments
Involvement with the review and development of SSW's
Effective application of Quality requirements:
Understanding of product quality characteristics and standards,
Effective understanding and application of Final product specifications,
Awareness of and basic understanding of relevant test standards,
Carrying out quality controls based on set test frequencies and production planning, on raw materials, semi-finished and finished products,
Periodically inspect products within the warehouse or production areas as required and record results,
Supporting third party requirements such as quality processing samples and providing information during surveillance audits,
Assist with performing internal audits related to quality and compliance
High degree of testing skills, knowledge and ability:
Fully trained and be able to operate equipment to the required standards,
Work in accordance with all information, instruction, training and supervision
Working conscientiously and to high levels of accuracy
Select test samples to the relevant schedules and condition in-line with relevant procedures / standards
Accurate recording of results and any required observations
Perform scheduled cleaning duties and basic maintenance activities including filter changes etc. including house keeping
Periodically test the operation of machine safety feature

You will have:
Flexible and willing to be trained in multiple areas in QC
Be a good team player with a “Can do attitude”
Confident with a positive personal outlook
Whilst not essential, the following would be of benefit:
Accredited fork lift truck training
COSHH training and awareness
Scientific training
Previous experience working in a factory/ manufacturing process environment
QC laboratory testing experience / high levels of accuracy
Able to follow instruction and work production schedules
Knowledge of SAP
Experience of working with various IT programs i.e. MS Word, Excel
Good oral and written communication skills
