MEI is an 18-year-old company specialising in the Business of Sport Sector. Synergies and connections between our client base has resulted in a growth spurt which requires additional resource supported by highly ambitious and energetic sales management. No less than 4 years sales experience is required with a proven track record.
MEI support is for 3 communities:
* Expert or new to market multi-sector companies supported by 3 Tiers of Membership and delivered as a service.
* Sports Property owners seeking to be introduced to new commercial partners and to find host destinations for their events.
* Destinations (Cities and Venues) seeking to host sports events and leverage MEI relationships.
Additionally:
* MEI runs 2 x annual Summits as major milestones for sales activities and similar projects on behalf of Government Agencies.
* Overseas market visits are opportunities to engage with future Host Local Organising Committees.
* MEI has routine and bespoke Publications which present case study and general sponsorship opportunities.
* Sponsorship of either of the MEI network generally, Summits and publications specifically or bespoke projects.
Summary of Role
* To close new business and grow a pipeline of opportunities daily contained within a rolling 12 month plan.
* Ensure close tracking of all opportunities backed up by robust and clear commercial proposals.
* Contribute to the marketing input produced by the rest of the team to ensure a high market profile.
* Support the planning and delivery of MEI activities.
* Attend trade shows and networking events as the representative of MEI.
A systematic approach to induction will be taken to ensure a fast start in role. The initial focus will be on Commercial Companies:
Sales of all 3 levels of Membership ranging from £4,000 to £26,000 per annum.
* Non-Member sales of enhanced marketing opportunities sold as bespoke campaigns where Membership is not appropriate.
* Members and non-Members attendance at Summits or overseas market visits.
* Features and sponsorship presence in MEI publications.
* Sponsorship of all opportunities.
Successful candidates for this role have the choice of two career paths following a successful period of probation:
* Continue to succeed in a sales role and grow a team.
* Retain a sales focus but with wider general manager responsibilities across the business to ensure the wider portfolio is fully integrated and grown.
Ways of Working
* This is a standard office hours’ role, less attendance at networking events which will require occasional evening attendance or meeting demanding deadlines.
* In the event of attending non London events (to include international activities), extended absence from the office could be in the region of 7 days subject to prior consultation.
Remuneration and employment terms
* Base salary depending on experience plus generous commission above cost recover paid quarterly.
* Salary review at 6 months to assess success and grounds to adjust.
* Pre agreed expenses to be confirmed in writing and paid monthly.
* Pro-rated holiday entitlement.
