Responsibilities:
* You will be authorised to provide financial advice in respect of all products/business areas.
* Ensure you comply with legal, financial services, data protection and pension legislation.
* Undertake a training programme and additional developmental activities, as discussed, and agreed.
Role Overview:
As a trainee financial planner, you will be provided with a full training plan to support your development of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to provide high quality advice and outcomes for clients, promote the business, conduct client meetings, dictate accurate high level meeting notes, and ensure all undertakings adhere to relevant FCA rules and regulations.
The role focuses on client communication, providing high-quality financial planning to the firm’s clients based on individual needs, applying technical knowledge in specialist areas such as SIPP, SSAS and discretionary investment management. You will be fully supported in all aspects of pension and investment administration by the teams of account executives, and typists who prepare all meeting notes for the client.
* Review existing clients’ circumstances and advise as appropriate.
* In all cases, obtain the required information to enable a full analysis of the clients’ needs; construct appropriate solutions to the principles of best advice.
* Create a detailed note for each meeting highlighting the client’s objectives and confirming action points moving forward.
* Meet with client annually to maintain and build relationships and ensure suitability of advice.
* Ensure the completion of meeting action points as supported by other departments - typists will prepare dictated meeting notes for checking and all letters and reports, as well as copy typing.
Business Promotion
* Explore opportunities and develop appropriate business relationships within a targeted geographical region.
* Establish contact with potential clients, such as solicitors and accountants.
Service and Compliance
* Ensure that the firm’s high standards of client care are met by demonstrating competence in all stages of the advisory process.
* Always operate within the Rules of the FCA as documented in the firm’s Performance Measures/Standards and Compliance Procedures.
Qualifications:
Qualified level 4, diploma in Financial Planning or working towards it.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
* Ability to work in a structured, planned manner.
* Ability to effectively manage a portfolio of clients.
* Experience of servicing high net worth clients.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and proven record of developing long term client relationships.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience of working within SIPP and SSAS marketplace.
