Overview
We are a successful construction company specialising predominantly in residential development and we are currently looking to employ a bright and personable individual with a good understanding of the building industry, knowledge of buying materials and pricing jobs, and familiarity with utilising Excel spreadsheets for tracking and monitoring costs. Some on-the-job training will be provided to familiarise with our systems and preferences, but a good understanding of Excel is key to this appointment.
The role is a key position in our business with the opportunity to grow for an ambitious applicant. The position will broadly include the following tasks, in addition to office-based tasks as the Senior Management may from time to time request or direct:
Duties
* Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to negotiate favourable terms and conditions.
* Buying of all materials required for sites.
* Liaising with site managers for materials orders.
* Checking supplier invoices for correct prices invoiced.
* Managing & monitoring project trackers.
* Managing & reporting Excel cost trackers.
* Producing basic Health & Safety packs - Guidance will be provided.
* Producing work schedules (project tracking) in Excel format – Guidance will be provided.
* Assisting with collating sub-contractor and material quotes for potential/new project costs & estimates.
Experience
* Proven experience in a buying or procurement role within a logistics or supply chain environment is preferred.
* Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence suppliers effectively.
* Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in managing purchase orders and supplier contracts.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal teams.

Pay: £30,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
