Application Analyst - Glasgow - Permanent - Hybrid
The IT Application Analyst is part of the global IT team responsible for the delivery and operations of My Client’s business systems. The Application Analyst will apply critical thinking in supporting and delivering services to a constantly evolving business and technical landscape. Strong relationships will be established with IT and process stakeholders to understand support requirements and how the supported systems are used.
Major Responsibilities
1. Establish strong relationships with process stakeholders to understand and prioritise issues, work items, initiatives, and projects that deliver value. Create specifications, process/data maps, and use cases. Challenge the status quo.
2. Identify, track and resolve application problems on a day-to-day basis, including evening and weekend support, as required. Coordinates the problem resolution aboard ships.
3. Responsible for your application environments to support unit, regression, and user acceptance testing. Work with other Analysts on designing and operating data interfaces and APIs.
4. Work with IT teams, vendors, and departments to champion data integrity and reliability through education and monitoring. Mentor junior IT members.
5. Support the new vessel onboarding process.
6. Administer routine and non-routine procedures for application use and security access; monitors KPIs and gathers performance metrics for the systems assigned.
7. Create or update standardised application support documentation.
8. Coordinate with the global Vessel Systems Support group to test, implement, and support solutions on the vessels.
9. Work with the Analytics team in identifying table relationships and data behaviour within your supported system; to improve integrations and data quality within the data warehouse.
10. Develop reports and dashboards, in conjunction with business stakeholders, to assist in identifying KPIs and data trends.
Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
1. Demonstrable experience of working with process owners and providing second level operational support for large business applications.
2. Experience with RFPs, and a full application lifecycle.
3. Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt; to understand business usage of the system and make suggestions for improvement.
4. Strong knowledge of continuous quality improvement, management information systems techniques, and change control procedures.
5. Results and deadline driven with the ability to prioritise and complete tasks in a timely manner, with minimum guidance or prompting.
6. Proactive, dependable and positive attitude.
7. Coordinating application deployments across multiple stakeholder groups.
8. Solid SQL querying experience, and experience with report/dashboard writing software such as PowerBI.
9. Proficiency with supporting Marine ERP suites (i.e. Nautical Systems, Compas) an asset.
10. Requirement to provide support remotely and in different time zones.
11. Occasional requirements to travel to regional offices and to vessels to service software, as needed.

1. £40,000 - £45,000 basic salary
2. Hybrid working. Although you are welcome to work in our Finnieston office full time, you are able to work from home up to 2 days per week.
