This provider are dedicated to providing high-quality residential care for children and young people who may be facing challenges. Their mission is to offer a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment that promotes their growth and well-being. They are looking for an experienced and passionate Responsible Individual to join their team and help us continue to make a positive impact on the lives of young people in care.
The Role: As the Responsible Individual, you will have overall responsibility for ensuring the highest standards of care in our children's residential home. You will ensure that all regulatory requirements are met, and that the home operates efficiently and safely for the children in residence. You will lead by example and ensure that all staff are supported, trained, and motivated.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead, manage, and oversee the day-to-day operation of the children's residential home.
• Ensure the home complies with all relevant regulations, including Ofsted, local authority guidelines, and safeguarding policies.
• Provide guidance and support to the residential care team, ensuring high-quality care is delivered consistently.
• Work closely with external stakeholders, such as social workers, families, and regulators, to ensure the best outcomes for children.
• Take responsibility for maintaining and improving the home's policies and procedures.
• Manage the recruitment, training, and development of staff, ensuring they are equipped with the skills to support children effectively.
• Monitor and report on the quality of care and the welfare of children in the home.
• Address any complaints or concerns, resolving them promptly and effectively.
Key Requirements:
• Experience: Previous experience in a senior leadership or management role within children's residential care, or a related field, is essential.
• Qualifications: A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is required.
• Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of children's safeguarding procedures, Ofsted regulations, and care standards.
• Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Commitment: A genuine passion for improving the lives of vulnerable children and young people.
• Flexibility: Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing situations.
