Job Duties
The Virginia State Police Special Investigations and Programs Division is seeking a collaborative and innovative team player to serve as a part-time Program Support Technician serving the Human Trafficking Unit and Gaming Enforcement Unit. This position will be responsible for researching, analyzing, and collating information from open-source locations as well as monitoring and tracking law enforcement tips. As the Program Support Technician, you will work closely with unit supervisors, special agents, and analysts by communicating information received from open-source findings and tip sources. The position will also provide administrative support and assist in developing brochures and awareness materials.

•Collects, documents, and analyzes information received from open-source locations.
•Works to identify trends and patters associated from the aforementioned information.
•Locates persons/businesses of interest on social media.
•Develops methods of identification and reports out on those methods to the Gaming Enforcement Unit and/or Human Trafficking Unit First Sergeant.
•Communicates with Virginia State Police (VSP) analysts regarding findings.
•Maintains confidentiality regarding work.
•Answers the unit telephone line.
•Manages the email inbox.
•Obtains information from individuals requesting services from the Gaming Enforcement Unit and/or the Human Trafficking Unit.
•Develops brochures and awareness materials.
•Provides administrative support to supervision and special agents.
•Assists Gaming Enforcement Unit and/or Human Trafficking Unit First Sergeant with training events.
•Takes minutes at human trafficking meetings.
•Keeps statistical data for gaming unit activities.
•Checks tip source locations throughout the day.
•Logs tips.
•Collected tips are analyzed, prioritized for assignment/disbursement by the First Sergeant. •Communicates with tipsters to obtain the most valuable information.
•Determines best course of action for tips independently.
Minimum Qualifications
•Working knowledge of data verification and analysis; of filing methods and general office procedures; of grammar,
punctuation, spelling, and office practices; and of graphic design for developing brochures and awareness materials.
•Skill in operating computers and using Microsoft Office applications.
•Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret policies and procedures; to collect, analyze, synthesize data, and maintain statistical information; to establish priorities; to
work independently and as a member of a team; and to communicate effectively in English orally and in writing.
•Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Additional Considerations
• Experience in data collection and analysis preferred.
