Job Description – Events Manager
Salary: Up to £32,500 depending on experience

Background

Castle Park – our home – is a multi-functional venue that hosts elite rugby, weddings, corporate events, conferences, and major social functions. With a growing reputation for premium experiences, we’re seeking an Events Manager to drive revenue growth, lead generation, customer retention and event delivery.
Overview of the Role
We are looking for a commercially minded and highly motivated Events Manager to lead our events function. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in both sales and operational delivery, capable of hitting revenue targets, generating new business leads, and ensuring the highest quality of customer satisfaction. Reporting to the Head of Hospitality and Events, you will lead a small, dedicated team and work closely with our Commercial and Hospitality teams to expand our events portfolio and maximise income streams.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Generation
* Proactively identify and convert new business opportunities across conferences, matchdays, weddings, parties and hospitality events.
* Drive lead generation and conversion through outbound sales activity, networking, venue showcases and digital campaigns.
* Deliver consistent revenue growth and client retention by developing long-term client relationships.
* Work towards monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and profitability targets across all event categories.
Event Delivery
* Oversee the planning and seamless execution of all events, ensuring excellent customer experiences.
* Coordinate with contractors, internal teams, and third-party suppliers to deliver professional events on time and within budget.
* Lead on logistics, staffing and operational readiness of all events.
Team Management & Leadership
* Alongside the Front of House Manager you will manage, support and develop a small team of event staff, including casual and contracted workers.
* Deliver training and feedback to ensure excellent service standards across all touchpoints.
Strategy & Operations
* Develop and implement commercial strategies to grow our market share in conferencing and private hire.
* Lead regular performance reviews, evaluate customer feedback, and make data-driven improvements.
* Monitor event profitability and maintain strict cost control while maintaining exceptional quality.
* Create systems and processes to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
Compliance & Standards
* Ensure all events comply with relevant health and safety legislation and licensing regulations.
* Regularly review standard operating procedures and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
* Proven track record in event sales, lead generation, and client retention.
* Strong commercial awareness and experience working to revenue and budget targets.
* Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and inspire a team.
* Experience managing events in a sport, leisure or hospitality setting is advantageous.
* Strong IT skills including CRM systems and event management tools.
