Your role.
The Procurement Manager you will onboard & engage with Suppliers & Vendors to drive service excellence, control costs and mitigate risks to gain increased value from Suppliers & Vendors throughout the contract & product lifecycle.
The Procurement Manager will develop and sustain long-standing relationships with Suppliers & Vendors, negotiating pricing and contracts, communicating expectations and performance, and resolving any product or service-related concerns. The Procurement Manager will coordinate with various cross-functional departments, maintain Supplier & Vendor records and databases, and build reports and surveys for tracking and auditing vendor programs.
We will develop and support you on the job from week one, as we believe that getting stuck in is the most effective way to learn. We will provide extensive solution and industry training, and our existing team will always be available to help you settle in.
Your day-to-day role will include the following activities:
* Sourcing, selecting & negotiating supply solutions that deliver real value to Westbase.IO and our customers.
* Being a partner to our internal customers - listening and understanding their needs and interpreting these into leading procurement activity, explaining and sharing supply agreements and performance expectations.
* Being a procurement role model - demonstrating influence and commercial acumen, being a proactive contributor to the success of the business.
* Draft supply contracts and negotiating terms that maximise value and limit risk, maintaining major contractual agreements and supporting our teams and business.
* Providing contractual and commercial advice to the business on procurement & supplier management.
* Proactively contribute to Westbase.IO’s ESG goals by listening to our suppliers and developing sustainable procurement methods.
* Proactively contribute to the development of the Procurement Function and promote procurement & its benefits across the business.
* Onboarding new Vendors by establishing & managing the project/engagement plan appropriate for the type of Vendor.
* Working with the Commercial Team (inc. Sales Director, Finance Director, Legal etc.) to define & agree new Supplier & Vendor contracts inc. SLA’s, Targets, MDF, Funded Heads, Customer Success, commercial remedies, penalties, credits, etc. where appropriate.
* Familiarisation of Vendors with product priorities, setting standards for vendor performance & responsibilities (KPI's quality, return rate, etc).
* Evaluation of Supplier & Vendor management methods and applying continuous improvement for delivery, quality, availability, etc.
* Managing service agreements & RFP's ensuring compliance and invoking commercial remedies, penalties, credits, etc, where appropriate.
* Monitoring & management of Supplier & Vendor Performance Reporting and material changes.
* Supporting the wider Westbase.io team by undertaking, on occasion, other duties as required and as within your skillset.
What you need to have.
To do this job well you need to have:
* A understanding of our products and services and how these are used in networking and XR.
* Excellent negotiation and commercial skills.
* Demonstrable experience of identifying opportunities and delivering added value through procurement.
* Own your own performance in a fast paced environment.
* Strong problem-solving ability, analytical skills.
* Excellent organisational skills including priority-setting and the ability to adjust as demands change.
* An ability to interact & negotiate with Suppliers & Vendors at all levels; C-Level, product management, etc. building, maintaining commercial relationships.
* Excellent communication & presentation skills – our main interface to our key Suppliers & Vendors, they will need to be able to articulate our value whilst being aware of what they need (selling Westbase.io at all times).
* Pride, Pace & Precision in your work.
The following experience and qualifications are also desirable, but not essential:
* Degree in a related discipline.
* CIPS qualification, Level 5 would be advantageous
* A minimum of 3 years in a relevant Supplier, Supply Chain, Procurement or Supplier Relationship Management position, preferably in a tech distributor or IT Managed Services provider.
* Moderate understanding of IP Networking and products.
* Advanced skills in Excel and/or Netsuite would be advantageous.
