The role will also be involved in the project to bring Benefex together with a recently acquired competitor. The successful candidate will work closely with the Benefex CFO and Head of FP&A to provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making as well liaising with the Zellis Group Finance team. Responsibilities Ownership of monthly management reporting and analysis of the Benefex Group’s financial performance against budget and forecast, delivering timely financial information to the senior management team and other stakeholders within the wider group. Preparation of monthly financial Board Reporting outputs. Oversee and mentor a small team of direct reports, providing leadership, guidance, and coaching to ensure their development and performance. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture. Responsibility for key accounting recognition including IFRS 9, IFRS 16 and IFRS 15, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, local regulations, and company policies. Review (and some preparation) of month end balance sheet reconciliations. Responsible for the Benefex group consolidation of UK and overseas subsidiaries. Prepare annual audit files for the statutory auditors in respect of the group and individual corporate entities, whilst acting as primary contact in the annual financial audit Prepare annual statutory accounts for entities within the corporate structure. Ad hoc projects across the business as required and providing the necessary support for answering any ad hoc queries and requests for analysis from the business. Continuous review and improvement of financial processes, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of financial operations. Drive automation and efficiency initiatives to streamline finance processes. Support Head of FP&A and business partnering team with inputs and analysis for budget and forecast process. Assist with working capital management and production of cash flow forecasts. Assist with delivery of payroll (outsourced) and tax (group support function) reporting/submissions in line with strict timetables. What are we looking for? ACA or ACCA qualified, with a background in practice. Proven experience in leading year end Statutory Audits for companies of a similar size and complexity IFRS Financial Statement experience, specifically IRFS 15 - multiple sets of international solo and consolidation accounts to be prepared under IFRS. Knowledge of key accounting principles (especially in connection with IFRS 15 revenue recognition) and experience of consolidation processes and the relevant bookkeeping Advanced Excel skills (inc Lookups and Pivot Tables). Attention to detail and robust numeracy are vital Knowledge of accounting software (NetSuite by Oracle in particular would be desirable but not essential if able to draw on similar software experience) People leadership skills. The ability to effectively lead and motivate a team of talented individuals. Excellent stakeholder management skills, the ability to work effectively with people at all levels including Board, investors and the Group Finance team. A demonstrable ability to prioritise, multi-task and work to tight deadlines Ability to think through systems and the confidence and clarity of thought to suggest and drive through positive changes as the business develops Excellent stakeholder management skills, the ability to work effectively with people at all levels including Board, investors and the Group Finance team.
