We are looking to recruit two members of staff to provide support to centre members enabling them to reach their full potential, whilst reflecting their individual aims, goals, and aspirations. The role is 5 hours a day, 5 days a week. To assist with manual handling in the role of assisting with personal care. To recognise individuality regarding physical, mental, and social needs. To interact with centre members, whilst working towards individual goals as identified in their care plan. Under the direction of the team lead, to document and record information appropriately. Detailed job description and main responsibilities 1: Communication and relationship skills Using empathy, sensitivity, and good people skills to encourage members and their carers in an active approach to regaining and maintaining personal independence. To use effective communication tools, verbal and non-verbal to communicate with members who may have barriers to understanding or communicating e.g. blind, deaf, dysphagic or first language not english. Flexible, dependable, and organised Ability to work as part of a team or individually with members. Able to demonstrate empathy and understanding, promoting impartiality and autonomy when needed. 2. Knowledge, training, and experience Good general education (GCSE or equivalent) Awareness of limitations, personal strengths, and weaknesses. Good written and verbal communication skills (essential) Experience in role, demonstrating ability to prioritise tasks and organised in your approach. Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality issues. Basic computer skills required. Experience in a role of social care setting (desirable) 3. Analytical and judgment skills To consult with the team for guidance and direction when necessary. Have a clear understanding of the expectations of the role, with awareness of limitations, personal strengths, and areas of development. 4. Planning and organisational skills To undertake specific tasks and activities as delegated by the team lead, and feedback specific progress to the team as relevant. Flexible, dependable, and organised. To ensure all in house training is up to date and completed. 5. Physical skills To assist with the moving and handling of members who may have complex needs, while providing personal care or enabling/engaging in activities, in accordance with the members care plan. The training and use of using a hoist or transfer aid to assist with manual handling, as well as physical assistance. To understand and participate in checking and monitoring or essential equipment. To complete required documentation demonstrating good practise. To attend various meetings, if necessary, within your role with other professionals. 6. Responsibility for patient/client care To assist with moving and handling of members who may have complex needs, while providing personal care. Competent in the use of assistive technology (full training given) To participate in a supporting role to enable members to engage with activities. To maintain members dignity, privacy, and confidentiality always. To promote choice and independence. 7. Responsibility for policy and service development implementation To have knowledge of and adhere to all MCH policies. To understand the centre's pledge and organisational core values. To contribute to team learning programme at relevant levels. 8. Responsibilities for financial and physical resources Identify lack of resources and inform team lead. Ability to identify faults with equipment, knowing how to take it out of action and report fault. Responsibility for handling lesser amounts of money. 9. Responsibilities for human resources (HR) To attend relevant training sessions/courses both internally and externally. To actively participate in MCH appraisal system and identifying personal developmental needs and plans. 10. Responsibilities for information resources To record accurate nonbiased information in line with legal requirements and local/national policies. To comply with information governance standards. 11.
