Full Time, Permanent
Salary: BG12 - BG13: £41,511 - £48,710 - Dependant on experience - please see attached paperwork.
Bristol is a great city in which to practice Social Work. Whether you are looking for a new challenge or want to broaden your knowledge and expertise, Bristol may have an opportunity for you. We have high expectations of our workforce, and we provide opportunities for you to develop your practice and career progression.
It is an exciting time to join our expanding Kinship and Special Guardianship Service and work with a team that is creative and continually adapting to new guidance and practice. We have high aspirations for children and young people living with Special Guardians and are committed to promoting permanence by providing services to achieve the best possible outcomes for them and their carers.
The main focus of your role will be completing assessments of potential Special Guardians, so you will need good skills in engagement, assessment, and analysis. You will also be supporting transitions, reviewing and assessing support needs, and will be involved in providing support to established Special Guardians and the children in their care across the city.
You will need to be systemic in your thinking and ideally have experience and knowledge related to Kinship Care and Special Guardianship. You will be required to be skilled in anti-discriminatory and anti-racist practice and confident in having courageous conversations to achieve good outcomes for children.
In this role, you will have broad opportunities for learning and development. We will support you through the career progression pathway, and you will have the chance to become involved in projects and develop your areas of interest to support this.
The team is friendly, experienced, and very supportive, comprised of social workers, family support workers, a children’s social care assistant, a finance and benefits worker, and team managers. We are based at B Bond in Central Bristol, in an open plan office with views over the floating harbour, Clifton Suspension Bridge, and Ashton Court. The office is in easy reach of good transport connections and shops, cafés, and amenities.
Please note that this role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.
