Our Graduate Programme
Our two-year graduate scheme will start your journey to becoming a Chartered Controls & Instrument Engineer, give you the opportunity to work with industry-leading teams and equip you with the skills that you need to begin a successful career in design and engineering.
You’ll be part of the team and get involved in a wide variety of projects to develop your experience from the very first day.
Principal Responsibilities
A Graduate C&I Engineer within our C&I Engineering team will be responsible for the quality generation and delivery of design documents and drawings to support the C&I / Process services team on key projects.
You’ll gain practical experience in producing calculations, specifications, reports and drawings associated with the design and build of complex Process Services engineering environments on some of the largest pharmaceutical, chemical, Industrial and defence projects in the UK and abroad.
Some of the services we provide are the design or production of:
* Control System Network Architecture
* Process Control Panel specifications
* Process Instrumentation & Valve specifications
* Schedules, including Instrument, Process Drive & Cable
* Drawings, including Block Cable Diagrams & Loop Diagrams
All achieved with the help of cutting-edge software to provide effective and sustainable designs for our clients.
You will develop your skills in a fast paced highly technical environment and hone your engineering career professionally working towards Chartered Engineer status with our CIBSE approved training scheme.

We’re looking for individuals with a passion for C & I Engineering with a focus on sustainable and complex projects and have a relevant engineering degree, such as:
* Instrumentation & Control Engineering
You’ll also need to feel confident to challenge the status quo, strive for perfect delivery and possess a willingness to get involved with every opportunity to develop yourself and put our customers first.
Due to the recent changes to salary thresholds set by UKVI, BakerHicks graduate positions do not meet the requirements to support new entrant visa sponsorship. Therefore, all applicants must have the permanent right to work in the United Kingdom.
