Transport for Greater Manchester are seeking a driven and experienced Procurement Manager to support the business through a significant period of change, by developing and supporting complex procurement activities across a portfolio of capitally funded infrastructure transport projects.
Your Role
You will lead and manage a portfolio of requirements across a range of capital spend categories, including Highways, Construction, Light Rail, Heavy Rail and Project Consultancy. You will utilise data and analyse market forces to lead on the development and delivery of procurement strategies to drive savings, improved performance, best whole life cost and minimised risk to TfGM, whilst influencing a range of stakeholders to drive the value of procurement across the organisation.
As a Procurement Manager, you will be the first point of contact for procurement in your areas of responsibility, partnering with functional teams such as Metrolink, Rail, Highways, and Bus, and often stakeholders beyond TfGM. You will lead in the development and delivery of procurement strategies, leveraging spend and wider opportunities aligned to the organisation’s strategic priorities.
This is a hybrid role where you will be expected to work in the office 2 days per week, with flexible working arrangements available.
Who are we?
The procurement team sits within the Finance and Corporate services Directorate and is responsible for managing all of the businesses procurement requirements. This role primarily relates to the delivery of large-scale multi-modal capital projects and will also include identification, procurement and delivery of related support services such as design and engineering consultants.
What you’ll bring
You will be an experienced procurement professional and have experience of developing and implementing strategies within a capitally funded construction environment. Experience of working to agreed deadlines as part of a multi-functional project team as well as individually will be essential. You will also have experience of supplier management and building relationships for success. Ideally, you will be MCIPS qualified or have equivalent experience, and you will also have some contract management experience.

A permanent role with a salary of £57,770 - £65,024 per annum dependent on skills and experience.
