About the Role
The Procurement team is repositioning itself to become a strategic enabler for BBC. Procurement Enablement will form a key part in this transformation, delivering enablers for Procurement and its stakeholders.
The Global Process Owner (GPO) for Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) owns the BBC supplier management policy, framework and governance process, ensuring compliance with UK corporate code and other regulatory standards. With the support of our technology teams, the GPO has the authority to deliver technological and process changes. The role will work closely with the Procurement SLT and other GPOs to align on ways of working and opportunities.
The GPO is a part of the procurement enablement leadership team and plays a key part in developing the strategy and team culture as foundations for a high performing team.
The role will lead on the standardisation, automation and streamlining of relevant processes to both align with regulations, industry best practice and procurement transformation. The GPO has ultimate responsibility for the strategic and operational performance of SRM along with realising its objectives which will be supported and measured by key process indicators.
Main Responsibilities
* Responsible for managing and optimising the end-to-end SRM process, ensuring compliance with UK corporate code.
* Responsible for actively defining and monitoring the end-to-end process and performance of SRM, identifying and leading continuous improvement to enhance efficiencies and drive standardisation.
* Responsible for supplier segmentation processes, and co-ordinating risk management efforts with the Senior Procurement Manager for third part risk.
* Responsible for managing BBC's strategic and critical supplier portfolio, STaR ensuring appropriate contract management processes are implemented.
* Manages a small team and acts as a role model, coaches and develops a high performing enablement team, creating opportunities for progression and succession planning.
* Works with all the relevant stakeholders, business, procurement, legal, sustainability, third party risk management, and finance teams to ensure best practice is applied across SRM activities.
* Responsible for influencing and aligning multiple stakeholders to ensure consistent and efficient processes are in place, which are aligned to business needs.
* Keeps abreast of industry trends and best practices in procurement through external research and peer networking and incorporating them into the BBC procurement enablement strategy.
Are you the right candidate?
* Proven experience designing and managing supplier relationship management frameworks, including segmentation and performance management.
* Strong understanding of supplier life-cycle management, including onboarding and contract renewal or termination.
* Experience developing and standardising SRM processes across multiple divisions, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and compliance requirements.
* Strong track record of working closely with procurement, finance, risk management and legal teams to ensure SRM strategies align with broader business objectives.
* Proven ability to establish governance structures to ensure supplier activities comply with internal policies, ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
* Ability to lead change initiatives related to SRM processes, including rolling out new tools, processes or frameworks.
* Experience leading and mentoring team members with various roles and responsibilities within procurement.
* Proven ability to gather and prioritise stakeholder feedback to inform process enhancements and address pain points.
* Experience presenting process improvement proposals and updates to senior leadership, gaining buy-in for strategic initiatives.
* Strong track record in leveraging data and analytics to identify inefficiencies and implement innovative solutions, such as automation and system enhancements.
* Experience of preparing reports, presentations and papers, with the ability to convey complex information in simple terms to a range of audiences.
* Experience of large ERP and Procurement systems and associated processes (SAP ECC6, S4/Hana, Jaggaer, SAP Ariba).
* Desirable - Professional qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, ICM, MCIPS or similar).
