Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated registered adult nurse to join our research delivery team at Liverpool Heart and Chest post holder will be responsible for all aspects of research delivery, working predominantly on our cardiac device studies.
Supported by a Senior research nurse and working within a sub-team of nurses and research support staff, the post holder will have an enthusiastic attitude and strong initiative to deliver high standard care and meet local and national research objectives.
Main duties of the job
You must have a strong commitment to providing the highest quality patient care and have had experience of working within cardiac and/or respiratory medicine. Experience of research delivery would be a key advantage.
You must be an effective communicator, have excellent organisational skills and a strong ability to manage your own workload, whilst working closely within your allocated team.
You will be expected to work within a sub-team of research nurses/support staff but will lead the delivery of device research studies within your speciality. You will be expected to provide oversight, support and leadership to other team members as required and offer mentorship to newer staff members.
Working to GCP, you will be responsible for all aspects of research delivery and patient safety regarding your studies. You will be confident to challenge, investigate and report incidents to ensure patients are safe throughout their research journey.
You will be fully supported on commencement of this role through an individualised induction plan, research specific competency package and allocated a mentor within the department. Evidence of ongoing professional development is required.

Maintain and complete source documentation and oversee the preparation of study activity.

Perform phlebotomy, monitor vital signs and perform other specialised nursing procedures as appropriate to the specific needs of the study and research subject.
MANAGEMENT R ESPONSIBILITY
To participate in and co ordinate planning, development and implementation of clinical protocols in accordance with research parameters.
Plan and carry out protocols for the screening, recruitment and retention of clinical research subjects, instructing subjects on treatment methods and protocol.
Undertake appropriate data collection systems and procedures, specimen collection, processing and recording of clinical data and/or specimen samples as required by established study protocol.
