We are recruiting for a Payroll Assistant to be based within our busy head office. You will play a crucial role in supporting with the internal employee payroll by delivering timely and accurate payroll services. Reporting to one of our Management Accountants, this role will involve processing payroll, maintaining payroll records, reporting, responding to payroll queries and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policies. The responsibilities within this role include: Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll for employees across multiple pay cycles from beginning to end. Ensure accurate input and maintenance of payroll data, including new starters, leavers, salary changes, and deductions. Process statutory payments such as sick pay, maternity/paternity pay, and other entitlements. Support payroll monthly and year-end processes. Assist with administration of workplace pension schemes Support payroll reconciliations, audits, and reporting requirements. Assist in maintaining compliance with payroll regulations and company policies. Work closely with the wider team to ensure accurate payroll reporting and data integrity. Respond to payroll-related queries from employees and internal stakeholders in a timely and professional manner. Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all payroll-related tasks. The successful individual will have the below skills and/or qualifications: Previous experience in a payroll administration or assistant role is preferred. Strong understanding of payroll processes, legislation, and best practices. CIPP Level 3 or equivalent is desirable Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage data with accuracy. Strong numerical and analytical skills. Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. A team player with a proactive and collaborative approach.
