My client is an established, privately owned construction business working on a wide range of commercial construction projects. As part of their growth they seek an Account Manager to join the team, the role will manage the day to day financial transactions and reporting and support the Finance Director with management accounting and statutory reporting. The role requires an experienced accountant who can manage a small team, it is essential you have experience from the construction industry (managing CIS returns) and recent experience of working with Sage 50. Support will be provided for further study and development. Responsibilities will include: Sales and Purchase ledger processing Communicating with customers, requesting / sending routine statements Quarterly VAT returns Reconciling customer statements, pro-actively resolving queries Preparing end-of-month aged debt and aged creditor statements with comments on current status. CIS processes including monthly return submission, sending subcontractor CIS Vouchers and ensuring invoices included correctly on SAGE. Preparation of journals for management accounts including accruals, prepayment, depreciation. Weekly bank reconciliations Payroll across the business. Collaborate with contracts managers to develop and monitor project costs. Monitor and support cash flow to facilitate daily operations. Work with the Finance Director to make any systems and process improvements to further support the business. This role has real opportunity for a candidate with strong accounting experience who would like to gain more exposure to management accounts and help to grow this business with systems and process improvements. Successful candidates will have relevant practical experience, ideally AAT qualified, if you are studying AAT / CIMA / ACCA the business is happy to support training and development. You will need experience from the construction industry and Sage 50. This is a permanent role based at the offices near to Romford.
