Cathy, Chief Operating Officer An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as a Deputy Divisional Director. We are looking for an established operational leader to work in collaboration with internal and external system partners to deliver the Trust’s operational priorities in relation to safe patient placement within Emergency Medicine. Working closely with internal Divisional colleagues and external partners, you will operationally lead the emergency department. This is a key operational role within Urgent Care to lead the Trust’s Emergency Medicine services. The post holder will provide visible leadership and ensure the delivery of agreed objectives and plans. The Deputy Divisional Director will work in partnership with Divisional teams to achieve all relevant local and national targets and standards working within the Trust’s governance, safety, quality, performance and risk framework and the current regulatory framework. Oversight of the Trust’s patient flow processes will be a key element of this post. Management of the directorate manager’s will be a major part of this role. The post holder will be expected to contribute to and lead the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of a wide range of initiatives related to patient flow and effective discharge. They will ensure that polices and processes associated with patient flow meet the needs of patients/carers. The role is a key member of the Division of Urgent Care and will work closely with clinical and operational colleagues to support the delivery of operational patient flow objectives. The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and to Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. The Trust works collaboratively within the wider Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership. Its services are provided from three locations: The Countess of Chester Hospital: providing 438 general and acute beds Ellesmere Port Hospital: providing 56 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate and outpatient facility Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: a base for community services which serve the local rural population.
