Job summary
The Data Quality Analyst will play a key role in identifying and correcting issues with data quality from several existing IT systems and the Trust's new Electronic Patient Record system. You will assist with updating and ensuring the data held is accurate and fit for purpose to assist clinicians to deliver safe care to our patients, as well as for the planning of services.
Main duties of the job
* Be responsible for maintaining the data integrity across the Trust's clinical system
* Running routine reports
* Correcting data issues to ensure the data held within several current clinical systems is accurate and can be migrated successfully into our new Electronic Patient Record at Go-Live
* Assisting with Datix issues and Freedom of Information requests.
About us
You will initially work as part of the AMS integration team who are responsible for developing the interfaces between EPIC, the new One Devon EPR and the clinical systems that will remain post EPIC deployment, as well as supporting the data migration activities for the systems that will be replaced and ongoing support and maintenance of the legacy interfaces for the length of the programme. You will work alongside a small Data Quality Team that is part of the EPR Programme.
The AMS department is responsible for the support and development of the Trust's core Clinical and non-Clinical IT systems to ensure they continue to meet the demands of the Clinical Users. The One Devon EPR programme aims to replace a large number of these legacy systems with a single Devon wide EPR, and will be the primary project, alongside BAU support, for the AMS team.

Job responsibilities
Communication and working relationships
Working closely with members of the AMS team, other system support teams, suppliers and the wider HIS teams, utilising clear communication channels and toolsets to deliver our day-to-day activities.
Communicating with end users of systems supported by the AMS team, assessing their needs/issues and actioning accordingly to ensure resolution, escalating to colleagues, or reassigning as and when required.
Liaising with colleagues to ensure completion of workflow, providing cover or support where required i.e. absence resulting from annual leave, sickness etc.
Participate in team, directorate and departmental meetings with staff from various groups/areas.
Provide training to new members of staff within the team, on our area of expertise.

Qualifications and training
Essential
* GCSE in English and Maths
* BTEC Level 4/NVQ 4 in Business Administration or equivalent qualification or equivalent proven relevant experience
* ECDL qualification or equivalent experience with practical use of MS Office applications and the ability to master new software applications
Desirable
* OCR/ RSA 3 in Typing
* Training in Information Governance
Knowledge and experience
Essential
* Experience of working within a data quality environment and understanding the impact of changing information in other areas or systems
* Understands the criticality of maintaining data quality on direct patient care, and the impact of having incorrect data on a patient's clinical record.
* Experience of working within a clinical or business setting
Desirable
* Experience of NHS Clinical Systems used within the South Devon Health Community, such as IHCS/PAS/SystmOne/ Symphony
* Experience of using NHS Spine Portal
* Knowledge of patient pathways
* Understanding of how data is used in a clinical setting
