Support Worker for Supported Accommodation

We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team at our Supported Accommodation facility. Location: Oxford, Oxfordshire
Full-time and Part-time opportunities available
£13.50 up to £14.00 per hour
Responsibilities:
1. Provide direct support and guidance to residents of our clients Supported Accommodation facility, creating a safe and nurturing environment.
2. Conduct comprehensive needs assessments and collaborate with residents to develop personalized support plans to address their unique challenges and goals.
3. Foster a supportive and empowering atmosphere by assisting residents in accessing resources and services related to housing, employment, education, and mental health.
4. Advocate on behalf of residents, ensuring they receive the necessary support from community organizations and services.
5. Respond promptly and effectively to crisis situations, implementing appropriate interventions and ensuring the safety and well-being of residents.
6. Facilitate life skills workshops and activities to enhance residents’ independence and empower them to develop essential life skills.
7. Maintain accurate and confidential records of resident interactions, assessments, and progress, adhering to data protection regulations and organizational policies.
8. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including colleagues, external agencies, and community partners, to provide comprehensive and coordinated support to residents.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Previous experience in a similar role, such as support work, social work, or in a residential setting, is preferred.
2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to establish rapport with residents, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
3. Empathy, patience, and the ability to actively listen and provide non-judgmental support.
4. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
5. Knowledge of local support services, community resources, and relevant legislation related to supported accommodation.
6. Proficiency in basic computer applications for record keeping and documentation.
7. Flexibility in working hours, including availability for evening and weekend shifts, to ensure optimal support coverage.
8. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical conduct at all times.
