The role
We have ambitious growth plans in the Retail Intermediated market and are committed to supporting financial advisers and private client managers in delivering exceptional service to their clients. We are seeking an experienced strategic leader to head up our Retail Intermediated Proposition team who will define the strategy, drive innovation, oversee development and support trading activity in order to grow and differentiate in our chosen markets.
The role is accountable for a large department of proposition managers and consultants. Their direct reports are senior leaders in their own right with responsibility for the respective channels and customer groups.
What are we looking for?
1. Building effective teams: build and lead a high performing team creating a culture of collaboration, empowerment and accountability.
2. Strong stakeholder engagement: form strong working relationships with internal teams and senior stakeholders to deliver against business priorities and secure buy-in for investment to enhance our propositions.
3. Track record of delivery: experience delivering complex projects and programmes of work as the business sponsor are essential.
4. Strong decision making skills: able to balance a multitude of factors as they look to deliver our propositions to market.
5. Experience of the market: understanding the needs of advisers, and existing competitor offerings, to help drive forward Standard Life’s future growth ambitions.
6. Regulatory knowledge: knowing the current and emerging regulatory environment is vital to ensuring our products & propositions remain compliant and are future proofed.
7. Commercial acumen: understand the commercial framework we are operating in as well as the financial levers to capitalise on market opportunities.
8. Market intelligence: work with internal teams, 3rd party partners and engage directly with advisers to gain insight on current proposition effectiveness and opportunities to differentiate in the future.
9. Brand ambassador: able to represent Standard Life at conferences, industry events and other external opportunities to enhance our market standing.
In addition to their immediate responsibilities, the role holder also has wider leadership responsibilities – both as part of the wider Proposition Leadership team and as part of the management of the Retail Intermediated channel.
