NRPF Senior Business Support Officer,
Grade 6 (£32,925 - £33,957)
Permanent position / Full time 36 hours per week
Croydon has not seen expansion like we are currently experiencing since the 1960s. We are already well underway with some £5bn of investment that will be completed over the next few years. New offices, new retail, and new homes will provide well-paid jobs and high-quality accommodation for our rapidly growing population.
Croydon is a naturally ambitious council – so we are looking for inspirational leaders who share our passion for supporting business growth and responding to local needs.
Strong partnerships are the foundation for the future. That is why we are constantly looking forward. We need to find creative new ways of working together with other agencies and the private sector to deal with the financial challenges ahead.
Because with growth comes increased demand – but also huge opportunity.
Chances like this only come along once in a generation, and our task, and maybe yours, is to shape a positive future for Croydon’s residents and businesses alike.
About the Role
Croydon has the largest population in London with an excess of 386,000 residents. It is a diverse borough with over a third of people and over half of all school age children coming from ethnic minority backgrounds.
The population is predicted to increase slowly over the next 10 years with an increase in the number of older residents. We already have the highest number of young people of any London Borough, and by 2032 it is predicted that half of our residents will be from ethnic minority communities.
Croydon is one of the few local authorities that have a coordinated response and a dedicated team that supports people who have no recourse to public funds (NRPF). We support not only NRPF single adults at risk, but also NRPF families which include children in need. Based on the proximity of our offices to the location of The Home Office in Croydon, we support a high turnover of clients who are subject to immigration control.
We are a high performing borough currently looking to recruit a motivated and energetic NRPF Senior Business Support Officer. We currently have one vacancy within the Immigration & Asylum Support Service.
As one of the NRPF Senior Business Support Officers in our progressive team, the successful candidate will be a crucial part of the service’s daily operations, providing essential support to ensure the smooth running of the teams. The role will be pivotal in enabling efficiency and effectiveness across Croydon’s Immigration & Asylum Support Service. All applicants must have proven experience of successfully working in the areas of Business Support and Data Management. The ideal candidate will have an excellent eye for detail; strong Information Technology skills, plus the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
