We are currently seeking a talented and highly motivated Geo-environmental Consultant to join our Geo-environmental team based in either our Bristol office. As a member of our team within the Energy, Water & Environment Business Unit you will undertake site and office based work supporting UK-wide delivery of brownfield regeneration schemes for a range of public and private sector clients.
The key focus for this position will be to provide your specialist input to a broad range of projects with responsibilities to include the preparation of technical proposals, factual and interpretative report writing, site investigation design, site supervision (including post works ground gas/groundwater monitoring), undertake both qualitative and (with support) quantitative contaminated land risk assessments and liaison with internal/external clients and sub-contractors.
You will also have the opportunity to be involved in the design and delivery of remediation and verification schemes, materials management plans, waste assessment and characterisation. Sweco projects span a variety of clients/former land uses with key technical experts/mentors within our various UK wide teams to support your continued development and career aspirations.
To be successful in this role you’ll possess have a science based degree in a relevant subject such as Geology, Civil Engineering or Environmental Studies. A Masters degree would be beneficial but isn't essential. You will however have some previous experience in site investigations for contaminated land as well as soil logging to BS 5930 2015+A1-2020 along with an understanding of the application and implementation of various ground investigation techniques.
We are looking for someone who has good problem solving/contingency planning skills with the ability to find quick, innovative and practical solutions for our clients.
