Description of what the apprentice will do in their role:
SEV UK Beeston Nottingham are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an Apprentice Wood Machinist. A fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about furniture making and eager to learn the intricacies of the trade. You will work alongside experienced staff, honing your skills and gaining valuable experience in all aspects of furniture manufacturing.
* Learn how to set up and operate wood machines
* Learn how to work from cutting list to produce furniture
* Learn how to produce components for furniture
* Learn how to maintain wood machines, tools and equipment
* Work within a small friendly team
* Understand Health and Safety in the environment
* Learn how to produce joints for furniture
* Learn how to assemble furniture
Comprehensive Modern Upholstery Training:
During your Standard Level 2 Wood Machining apprenticeship programme you will receive training both off and on the job. You will be trained by the employer within the workplace and also at WEBS Training in Nottingham. You will learn the underpinning knowledge that runs alongside your practical elements of the training. WEBS Training aim to build on the skills you already have so you reach your full potential both personally and professionally.
Training will be provided in all areas of wood machining to ensure you can create practical and bespoke furniture using both traditional and modern techniques and materials to produce aesthetically pleasing and fit for purpose products.
If you have already achieved GCSE maths and English at Grade 4/C or above or have equivalent qualification you will be exempt from undertaking Functional Skills, however English and maths support will be provided for all apprentices throughout the length of their programme.

This role offers opportunities to advance to an Advanced Apprenticeship at Level 3 within the chosen trade area, along with increased responsibilities and progression within the company.

Pay: £13,312 per year
