Division overview: The Landing Gear Market specializes in designing, qualifying, manufacturing, repairing, and overhauling landing gears and critical flight components for OEMs and operators in both commercial and military sectors.
Position summary: Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, this role offers the opportunity to work with a leading aircraft landing gear manufacturer. The core responsibilities include defining, supporting, and improving manufacturing methods to ensure products are made safely, with high quality, and efficiently. Tasks involve creating and updating manufacturing plans and BOMs using the ERP system, supporting rework instructions, designing tooling, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
Main responsibilities:
1. Develop and improve manufacturing instructions and methods.
2. Utilize the Infor LN ERP system for planning and BOM management.
3. Collaborate with Design Engineering on rework schemes for MRO repairs.
4. Plan production for plating processes.
5. Support New Product Introduction, including design reviews and risk assessments.
6. Assist manufacturing teams on the shop floor with production and testing issues.
Qualifications:
* Solid foundation in manufacturing engineering practices.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
* Experience with SolidWorks for tooling design.
* Knowledge of processing and plating techniques like Chrome, HVOF, Nickel, Zinc Nickel, and Cadmium.
* Experience with hydraulic actuation systems.
* Familiarity with ERP systems such as BaaN is a plus.
