As part of their continued growth, they are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician with a strong mechanical focus to join their dynamic team on a Monday-to-Friday shift.
Role Overview:
The Maintenance Technician will focus on ensuring the mechanical reliability and performance of manufacturing equipment and site utilities. This position is critical to maintaining GMP standards, reducing mechanical downtime, and supporting production efficiency within a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform preventive and reactive mechanical maintenance on pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment, packaging machinery, and site utilities.
2. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults, including gearboxes, pumps, bearings, conveyors, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems to minimise production downtime.
3. Conduct mechanical installations, overhauls, repairs, and modifications as needed to ensure reliable operation.
4. Perform routine mechanical inspections, lubrication, and adjustments to maximise equipment lifespan and efficiency.
5. Collaborate with other departments to identify mechanical root causes of breakdowns and implement corrective actions.
6. Read and interpret mechanical technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to support maintenance tasks.
7. Maintain accurate mechanical maintenance records using CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System).
8. Ensure all mechanical maintenance activities comply with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and health & safety standards.
9. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce mechanical failures.
Key Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician with a mechanical focus, preferably within a pharmaceutical, food, FMCG, or similarly regulated environment.
2. Hands-on experience with mechanical systems, including pumps, valves, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyors.
3. Ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical systems independently.
4. Proficiency in reading and understanding mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
5. Familiarity with CMMS systems for recording and reporting maintenance work.
6. Experience working within GMP environments and adhering to validation processes (desirable).
7. Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and methodical approach.
8. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
