Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the outpatient physiotherapy team at Velindre Cancer Service for a Band 7 Highly Specialist Oncology Physiotherapist to join our innovative, patient-centred and friendly team. This is a full-time post; based 3 days at the Satellite Radiotherapy Unit, Nevill Hall, Abergavenny and two days at Velindre Cancer Centre, Cardiff.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Physiotherapist with highly developed communication, organisational and time management skills. The post holder will take the lead on the establishment and clinical delivery of Physiotherapy services at the Satellite Radiotherapy Unit (SRU), Nevill Hall Hospital, alongside working within the physiotherapy outpatient department at Velindre Cancer Centre.
Clinically you will oversee the delivery of outpatient physiotherapy services to a wide range of oncology and palliative care patients, at various stages of cancer treatment(s), accessing services delivered by Velindre Cancer Service across two sites. You will work closely and build relationships with a range of multi-disciplinary colleagues. This is a great development opportunity, and personal development within the role will be supported. Supervisory support will be provided by the Outpatient Clinical Lead Physiotherapist and the Therapies Management team. Flexible working requests will be considered within this role.
Main Duties of the Job
The post holder will contribute towards the development and be responsible for the delivery of an Outpatient Physiotherapy service for patients receiving oncology intervention under Velindre University NHS Trust. This will involve delivery of service to a wide range of oncological and palliative patients at various stages of cancer treatment(s).
As a Highly Specialist Physiotherapist, the post holder will be an autonomous practitioner performing an advanced musculoskeletal assessment of patients including those with complex presentations and from this formulates a diagnosis and treatment plan. The post holder will support in the supervision, teaching and appraisal of junior clinicians, technical instructors and assistants, physiotherapy students and will contribute to extended hours within the physiotherapy team and will be involved in developments to deliver a seven-day service.

Qualifications & Knowledge
Essential:
* Recognised qualification degree/equivalent in physiotherapy
* HCPC registration
* Teaching qualification or student clinical educators course
Desirable:
* Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)
* Evidence of recent study
* Service Improvement award
Experience:
Essential:
* Experience as working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Evidence of audit and service development
* Significant experience working as a senior physiotherapist.
