We are looking for a motivated and experienced Principle Drainage Engineer to join our team in Sheffield for a long-term contract position.

Job Description:
This role involves managing and influencing technical teams across multiple office locations and projects, ensuring high standards in the delivery of drainage schemes. The successful candidate will also take on people management responsibilities, ensuring that the team operates effectively and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Act as a technical leader for drainage teams, providing guidance and supervision on drainage schemes of varying complexity.
2. Manage and motivate a multidisciplinary team, ensuring that deliverables meet the necessary quality, cost, and timeline requirements.
3. Oversee the preparation and checking of designs, calculations, drawings, and documentation, ensuring all outputs meet project and client expectations.
4. Lead the pricing and management of deliverables to ensure value for money (VfM) outcomes for clients.
5. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring effective liaison and management of expectations.
6. Take responsibility for the commercial success of projects, managing budgets and controlling costs associated with the delivery of project outputs.
7. Provide technical input on project strategy and delivery, including risk management and resolution of technical issues.
8. Act as a people manager when required, ensuring team members are motivated and supported in their roles.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Demonstrable technical drainage experience on small to large-scale and complex drainage schemes.
2. Strong evidence of people management experience, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of specialists.
3. Proven experience in the preparation, management, and delivery of scheme designs, calculations, and project documentation.
4. Commercial awareness with the ability to price and manage deliverables effectively.
5. Excellent client liaison and relationship-building skills.
6. Experience managing project budgets and driving commercial success.
7. Incorporated or Chartered status or equivalent professional licence through a relevant professional institution.
