Summary
Job Introduction: Gleeson Homes are recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to assist the Regional Commercial team, delivering the Group Business plan, Commercial objectives, budgets and future growth requirements by being involved in commercial activities; supporting the implementation, control and reporting of all development/build-related expenditure.
We're looking for someone who is passionate about working with colleagues within the region and across different disciplines with a keen attention to detail and accuracy when conducting the valuation process. The suitable person will be someone who wants to proactively contribute to our mission of changing lives, by building affordable, quality homes, where they are needed, for the people who need them the most.

Our teams are structured with a Commercial Director, a Managing Quantity Surveyor, a Senior and Quantity Surveyors – giving you the experience and mentorship to further develop.

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will:
* Support management and reporting.
* Assist the commercial team and follow group policies and processes.
* Help manage the relationships with subcontractors, housing associations and external partners.
* Be key in helping determine and agree site start programs and assist with commercial matters for new and existing developments.
* Partake in site visits, including current and new sites, as well as potential sites, to see the future of Gleeson Homes.
The Ideal Candidate
* A relevant qualification or basic understanding of the role of Quantity Surveying.
* A basic understanding of the financial implications of the methods and sequences of build.
* Basic finance/commercial awareness and technical knowledge.
* Basic knowledge of the Construction Industry.
* Basic knowledge of commercial and financial management systems and controls.
* Awareness of codes of practice that impact on commercial matters e.g. Building Regulations, NHBC requirements, HSE etc.
* Knowledge of Construction Design Management Regulations.
* The desire and determination to work collaboratively and progress as a team.
