About the role
As a Teacher of History, you will play a crucial role in inspiring and educating our senior school pupils about the complexities of the past. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic Humanities Department, where you will teach History while potentially contributing to A level courses in the future. You will work closely with the Head of Humanities to enhance the curriculum and promote a love for learning about History, Geography, and Religious Studies. In addition to classroom instruction, you will engage students in their broader education through co-curricular activities and cultural visits, fostering a deep understanding of diverse cultures and civilizations. Your commitment to the school's ethos will help shape the educational experience of our pupils, preparing them for a globalised future.
This is a permanent, part-time 0.5 FTE role with 1st September 2025 start date. There is a potential for a full-time role if you are able to teach both History and English.
Who we are looking for:
You are an outstanding and qualified History teacher with a passion for your subject and the ability to engage students effectively. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, as is a commitment to co-curricular activities that enrich student learning. The ability to teach History to at least GCSE level is essential; the ability to teach to A-level would be desirable. You should be a motivated team player, eager to contribute to a successful department and support the school’s vision of fostering critical thinking and reflection in pupils.
