Post background Based in the Finance & Planning team the Finance & Planning Officer will play a key role within the financial accounting team, supporting finance system users and assisting the wider JNCC organisation on operational activities. We are looking for an individual who is organised, logical, and has a good level of financial awareness to join the team. The successful candidate will be required to have the ability to prioritise and be able to manage their own workload. They will have great communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders such as colleagues in other teams and suppliers. Job description Post Duties Post duties will include but not be limited to: Processing invoices and making payments to our suppliers using our finance systems; matching invoices to purchase orders and dealing with any discrepancies, helping to resolve queries and ensuring that controls are maintained, and clear audit trails are kept. Gathering and verifying details for new suppliers and processing information on the financial system. Assisting users in navigating and identifying the relevant coding information for their projects. Assisting Finance Accounting Officer in processing of payment runs and manual payments. Collate forms and evidence for overseas payments. Preparing and posting journals ensure clear audit trail and evidence is matched. Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations, review control accounts including procurement card, Corporate Travel Management (CTM) and bank reconciliations ensuring that supporting documentation is maintained. Identify and investigate discrepancies or issues and report to financial accounting officer. Managing the Finance and Planning inbox, providing support to the finance team, co-ordinating activity and dealing with correspondence. Acting as the financial accounting team data champion, updating finance policies and procedures and managing the intranet content. Assisting with external and internal audit, as well as the completion of regulatory and stakeholder returns.
