SENDCo – Permanent Role in Cambridgeshire (PE2)
An Ofsted-rated Good Academy in Cambridgeshire is seeking an experienced and highly motivated SENDCo to lead and oversee the school’s Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision. This is a key leadership role within the school, offering an opportunity to shape the support provided to students with additional needs and ensure they receive the best possible education.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement a strategic vision for SEND provision, ensuring all students with additional needs are identified and effectively supported
* Work closely with classroom teachers to embed inclusive teaching practices and provide tailored strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners
* Coordinate and oversee the creation and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), ensuring appropriate interventions and adjustments are in place
* Act as the primary liaison between the school, parents, external agencies, and local authorities to secure the best outcomes for students
* Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEND provision, using data to inform decision-making and improve student progress
* Lead and manage a team of teaching assistants and support staff, providing training and professional development opportunities
* Ensure compliance with statutory SEND policies and the latest developments in SEND legislation
Requirements:
* Hold the National Award for SEND Coordination (NASENCo) or be currently working towards its completion
* Significant experience working with students with SEND, preferably within a secondary school setting
* Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a team
* Excellent knowledge of SEND legislation, the EHCP process, and effective intervention strategies
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and external stakeholders

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
