Please apply to become a Deputy Team Leader / Charge Nurse in Rehabilitation if you wish to become part of our journey in creating a better future for rehabilitation patients. This post is integral to providing senior leadership to nursing and support teams at the NRC, taking deputy ward manager / team leader responsibility for high quality, efficient, safe and compassionate care in a rehabilitation setting.
If you were successful, you would become a key part of shaping the service going forwards and contribute, with other professional colleagues, in paving the future of rehabilitation in the UK. The model is to deliver rehabilitation regionally, with the East Midlands being the first, with others to follow.
This is a unique and fantastic opportunity to join the revolution of rehabilitation in the UK. You will be at the forefront of big change over the next few years. Your contribution will be vital but not only that, you will be supported to grow and learn through our many developmental programmes at the NRC. 3. Work as part of the interdisciplinary team to assess, evaluate and deliver care to patients.
4. Utilise and integrate evidence into practice.

Working for our organisation
Due to open in spring 2025, the National Rehabilitation Centre (NRC) will be the first to set new ambitious standards of practice and outcomes for rehabilitation patients in England. The NRC programme is hosted by Nottingham University Hospitals Trust.
The NRC is a new purpose-built 70 bed facility which is being built on the Stanford Hall Rehabilitation Estate near Loughborough.
It is co-located with the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre with whom the NRC will work closely. Academic partners led by the University of Nottingham and Loughborough University will ensure research and innovation and training and education in rehabilitation will be embedded at the NRC and central to clinical practice.
The NRC is at a crucial stage of workforce planning to ensure that the centre is established robustly to achieve the excellence it strives for. The workforce is key to the successful delivery of improved patient outcomes, to achieve its national ambition and education and to embed research into clinical practice.
Although this post will initially be based at Linden Lodge to support the rehabilitation of the patients in this setting, the person employed will be expected to transition with the service to the NRC.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
This role will be temporarily based at our current unit Linden Lodge at City Hospital until we move to the 70 bed NRC facility in summer 2025, and will continue to deliver early, goal-directed rehabilitation to patients transitioning from our regional Neurosurgery, Spinal and Major Trauma Centres.
