About the role
Feel the buzz from resolving issues and achieving a great customer outcome at the same time? We’re on the lookout for a Remediation Analyst to join our Remediation team. We pride ourselves in giving our customers a great service, but what we do is complex, and things do go wrong from time to time. When they do, we need our people to act quickly to make sure our customers are not disadvantaged. Our approach to any remedial work must be fair, accurate and consistent.
To be successful in this role you’ll need to have a passion for doing the right thing for our customers, have lots of experience dealing with different types of remediation, be able to consider the downstream impact of errors (and not just the error in isolation), have outstanding excel and data manipulation skills and have an understanding of the different types of assets clients can invest in and how the trading cycle works. As well as being good with numbers and data you need to be good with words as we need our customers to understand our approach to putting things right.
Here are some of the activities you’ll get involved with as a Remediation Analyst at Nucleus:
1. Investigating issues to establish what went wrong
2. Identifying the impact of the issue – who was impacted? How were they impacted?
3. Determining which calculation approach will need to be used to assess the impact on each customer
4. Specifying and finding the data required to perform the calculations
5. Perform the calculations, using whatever tools are available to you
6. Identifying improvements to how things can be done and driving action to improve them to prevent recurring errors
A bit about you
Your friends would probably describe you as the “super-organised” one, with impeccable attention to detail and amazing analytical skills. You’re the type of person who asks great questions to understand expectations but can react like lightening to solve problems.
Spending your time investigating issues to understand what happened and working out what should have happened in each situation, you’ll also have a passion for coming up with methods and metrics to understand financial impact to sensitive cases that may impact our customer.
At Nucleus, we’ve always placed high value in cultural contribution and growing our diversity of thought, over technical capability. But it would great if you had some of the following:
7. Previous experience in the financial services industry (ideally trading/investments)
8. Excellent excel user, who understands vlookups, pivot tables, formula etc
9. Strong attention to detail
10. The ability to specify data requirements, collate data from different sources and to manipulate data
11. Able to quickly understand the material issues and find the most effective way to solve a problem
12. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal as we need you to be able to explain what you’ve done, how you’ve done it and evidence why this is the right thing to do
13. You’ll also need to collaborate with different areas of the business so building strong relationships is key
