Role responsibilities
* Provide management and leadership of fleet maintenance and repair activities within the production department at Canton Depot.
* Responsible to the Fleet Depot Manager for leading and directing the depot production management team to meet the requirements of Service Level Agreements to achieve the specified rolling stock, reliability, cleanliness, and delivery ensuring all specification and standards are met.
* Coordinate all work in line with capacity and the fleet maintenance plan, forming the depot production plan in conjunction with Fleet Planning.
* Ensure safety, compliance and wellbeing of maintenance teams.
* Assist the Fleet Depot Manager as and when required, deputise for the Fleet Depot Manager as and when required.
Who we’re looking for
* Extensive knowledge and experience of engineering and management, with particular emphasis on railway vehicle engineering and production.
* Experience in the leadership and development of an engineering discipline team operating in a safety critical environment.
* Engineering or Technical apprenticeship qualification or equivalent in relevant discipline.
* Proven knowledge and experience of maintenance planning/scheduling.
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role. Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve and maintain their Welsh Language skills. We fully support our people who want to improve their Welsh language skills, and personal development for Welsh Language skills are offered in a variety of ways such as online learning, classroom courses and funding attendance at local community courses.
