Astutes Power Team are working exclusively with a global media management and distribution company with offices and facilities located around the globe. This role is based at their transmitting station in Shropshire.
We are looking for a Broadcast Engineer to join the team as a Satellite System Specialist. In this newly created role you'll be providing service management and support to the existing systems on site as well as installations across the UK. There is also a requirement for support on the international sites as well!

Responsibilities and duties:
As the Satellite System Specialist, you will be responsible for:
Working closely with the Broadcast Engineers, RF Engineers & Technicians to coordinate maintenance, servicing and support needs on the sites equipment.
Plan and prioritises engineering tasks to meet clients needs to deliver high availability transmission services.
To maintain and operate satellite & ground system equipment.
Carry out tender & evaluations for new satellite installations & system upgrades, including identification of specialist contracting services.
Providing key reporting data including service availability statistics as part of monthly customer reports.
Carry out system performance analysis across the main site and additional sites.
Provide engineering support including outage reports, improvement plants, new service solutions, budget management and contractor management.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Ideally a BSC in Engineering or equivalent
Membership of a relevant trade body
Personal skills
The Satellite System Specialist would suit someone with:
Extensive experience with cloud-based software and IP based transmissions system
Experience of terrestrial radio transmission
Knowledge of IP Networking, SNMP & remote monitoring / control systems.
Worked with RF transmission systems including TWTA's, SSPA's waveguide & feed systems.
Detailed knowledge of DVB Coding & modulation systems.
