Band 2 Receptionist (CAT 1 - Head and Neck) - Townlands Hospital, Henley-on-Thames (and RBH Reading)
This is a full-time post for 37.5 hours per week. The post will include working shifts between 8am and 5pm on a rota basis.
PLEASE NOTE: This role is based at Townlands Hospital, Henley-on-Thames; however, you will also need to provide cover at Royal Berkshire Hospital (RBH), Reading - so, you will need to be flexible in order to provide a service at both sites.
The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, Head and Neck Directorate is seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to join our Reception teams. Main duties of the job
Duties include welcoming patients into the departments, preparing patient files for clinic appointments, managing wait lists, being the first point of call for patients attending outpatient appointments, performing administrative duties, and arranging follow-up appointments for patients before they leave the department. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service and administrative skills and be willing to multi-task under challenging and busy conditions.

Job responsibilities
You should have the ability to perform basic administrative functions and will be responsible for receiving patients and visitors attending outpatient clinics, taking ownership of escalated administrative issues where appropriate. The receptionist works in close partnership with medical, nursing and secretarial staff to ensure the smooth running of the outpatients department.

Education / Qualifications
* GCSE (or equivalent) or above in English Language and Maths
* Knowledge of Microsoft packages
Experience
* Reception experience within a customer service setting
* Call centre experience
* Experience within an NHS administrative environment
