The Role We are seeking a highly motivated Market Research Officer to join the Market Insight Team within the Marketing Directorate, based in Swansea. This role involves conducting comprehensive market research to identify trends, consumer behaviours, and emerging opportunities. You will provide high-quality analysis and insights to support curriculum review, marketing strategies, and programme portfolio development. In this position, you will: Design and deliver evidence-based market research using primary and secondary methodologies. Analyse data using tools like survey platforms, Google Analytics, and search analytics tools. Produce timely reports and insights that inform key strategic decisions. Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the University and external partners. About You We are looking for a motivated professional with: A degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant role. Experience in designing and conducting primary research (e.g., surveys, focus groups, interviews). Strong familiarity with analytics tools such as Google Analytics, SEMrush, or Ahrefs. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and present data clearly and effectively. Advanced IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain insights to non-technical audiences. A proactive and detail-oriented approach to work. Desirable: Proficiency in Python or SQL programming. Experience with data visualization platforms (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau). Knowledge of GDPR and data protection regulations. Experience in higher education marketing or brand evaluation. Familiarity with Welsh (basic greetings or willingness to learn).
