As the Electrical Team Leader, you will be part of a multi-disciplined diagnostic team responding to breakdowns & developing repair strategies, working 12-hour days. You will support the departments Shift Management team (Production and Engineering) to ensure Safety, Quality and Production Plans are all met.

The Role of the Electrical Team Leader
9. The Electrical Team Leader will be required to direct their team to carry out Planned Maintenance in line with the schedule set on the CMMS and fault find on all our equipment and control systems, to identify solutions to the problems which arise and to implement these with your team to ensure our continuous production schedules are met. Training and support will be provided to assist you in meeting these requirements
10. The Electrical Team Leaders team provides an operational and maintenance service to the site encompassing all aspects of engineering limited only by the competency of the team; this will include work of and with the opposite trade, working alone, working with contract resource, and working with production.
11. The opportunity to pursue academic and non-vocational managerial qualifications to support the role is also available and encouraged.
12. Lead a multidisciplinary team of skilled and apprentice craftsmen in all aspects of the workplace
13. The team is responsible across site to improve performance & reliability.
14. Plan labour & material requirements for plant needs as specified by Section Engineers.
15. Planning & delegating activities of Team Members and contractors, through monitoring & controlling attendance & holidays and assisting in delivery of technical & safety training.
16. Undertake Technician role as required.
17. Carry out PPM inspections.
18. Coordinate & supervise other services & contractors.
19. Deputise for 1st Line engineering management.
20. Write and review risk assessments, method statements and procedures e.g., JTD’s
21. Ensures business health and safety instructions are followed e.g. Working at height, Hot work, Confined spaces, through both planning and supervision.
22. Use the Maintenance management system to its full capability for maintenance activities
23. Manage the permitting system for the department, ensuring all isolations/immobilisations are correct and implemented prior to authorising work.
24. Undertake training to learn new skills and use any training given.
25. Involvement in plant improvement projects.
26. Respond to breakdowns under own initiative.
27. Deliver business communications to team (business performance and safety briefs).
28. As Electrical Team Leader you will be expected to have knowledge of all the above and be focused on management of Safety, Health & Environment, and people. You should have a high technical ability and be the first point of call for problem solving. You should have a Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) mindset and be able to suggest inspection improvements and failure reduction measures.
29. The team will be multi-functional and flexible and will be comprised of individuals with specific knowledge of each department. Individuals will be expected to be able to work in all departments and gain a working knowledge of them, using the experience of the local team.
Requirements of the Electrical Team Leader
30. A recognised electrical engineering apprenticeship (Preferably HNC but minimum ONC level or equivalent).
31. Sound plant engineering knowledge and experience of industrial systems such as: AC & DC circuits Hydraulic systems Pumps, drives and gearboxes Heavy machinery Water cooling systems Conveyor systems Dust extraction systems Robotics and PLCs
32. Self-starting driven individual capable of leading a small team
33. Ability to work with cross functional groups
34. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to methodically fault find any issues to root cause and front line rectification.
35. Experience of working under permit systems previously or has knowledge of how permit systems operate
36. A customer focussed attitude with an understanding of prioritisation with current resources
Working Pattern of the Electrical Team Leader
The working pattern will consist of 8-hour shifts including afternoons and mornings.
The role requires weekend work with days off in the week.
