The Operations Technical Support Officer will be responsible for overseeing the management and safe execution of operational tasks within the facility, as a member of the Operations Delivery team. This position is based in the Active Handling Facility (AHF) and reports directly to the Production Delivery Team Manager. The Operations Technical Support Officer will undertake a range of roles that are essential to supporting and facilitating operational activities. These roles encompass, but are not limited to, Task Supervisor, Originator (Person Organising Work), Sender/Receiver, PMP Author/PMP Manager, Lift Supervisor and Cave Coordinator. Operations Technical Support Officers will cultivate essential skills to ensure the safe and compliant execution of operational tasks within our facilities. You will participate in the development and production of pertinent safety and assurance documentation to support a diverse range of both straightforward and complex on-site activities. You will hold hands-on responsibility and accountability for successfully delivering work on challenging operational projects and programs. Additionally, you will engage with both internal and external stakeholders. Main Responsibilities for Operations Technical Support Officer: Combination of the below points, dependent on the roles attributed to the position: Provide direct supervision for operational tasks within the Active Handling Facility. Responsible for ensuring all work is completed in accordance with the Safe System of Work and always remains compliant. Understands their area of responsibility and how this interfaces with other personnel within Operations, Engineering and Projects. Liaise with all stakeholders including but not limited to Duly Authorised Person (DAP), Safe System of Work Controller (SSC), Integration Leads and project managers to ensure work is always carried out in a safe and compliant manner. Communicate daily progress updates back to Production Delivery Team Manager as well as ensuring a comprehensive log of all activities undertaken is complete. Communicate clearly systems of work effectively to all persons under their control, who may be directly or indirectly affected by the operation/s. This includes pre and post job reviews. Responsible for the safety of others who are not directly involved with the task, but who may be affected by the task. Understands and follows the procedure for reporting unusual occurrences and failures where necessary and takes the appropriate action to protect personnel and the environment. Generate suitable and compliant Safe Systems of Work. This will include generation of risk assessments, method statements and all associated documentation. Production and management of Plant Modification Proposals for Operational tasks and projects. Be a member of the emergency response team.by covering a safety role for the AHF. Essential Criteria for Operations Technical Support Officer: Strong communications skills, ability to communicate key information with customers, suppliers and stakeholders. Evidence of self-motivation. Good written and verbal communication skills. Drive and energy with a strong aptitude for problem solving. Ability to work individually and as part of a team. Ability to keep accurate and detailed records. Ability to obtain SC level security clearance (this includes but is not limited to identity, employment, financial and criminal record checks plus 5 years worth of UK residency). Desirable Criteria for Operations Technical Support Officer: Hold IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent as a minimum qualification.
