Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Year 4 Class Teacher to join our vibrant and welcoming school in Hemel Hempstead from Easter 2025. This full-time, permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the academic and personal development of our Year 4 students.
As a Year 4 Class Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging lessons that support the development of students as they build on their Key Stage 2 learning. You will foster independence, critical thinking, and a love for learning, while ensuring students develop key skills in literacy, numeracy, and other core subjects.
Key Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons that are engaging and cater to the needs of all learners in Year 4.
Create a positive, nurturing classroom environment that promotes learning, collaboration, and respect.
Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and using data to inform planning and interventions.
Foster a growth mindset in students, encouraging them to take ownership of their learning and develop their problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Support children's personal, social, and academic development, ensuring they are well-prepared for the next stage of their education.
Build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff, maintaining regular communication regarding progress and any concerns.
Promote student well-being and ensure a safe, inclusive classroom environment.
Participate in school events, parent meetings, staff development sessions, and extra-curricular activities.
Engage in continuous professional development to keep up with the latest educational trends and methodologies.
Key Requirements: A valid teaching qualification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
Proven experience teaching within a primary school setting, ideally in Key Stage 2.
In-depth knowledge of the Year 4 curriculum and the developmental needs of children at this stage.
Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to foster a positive and productive learning environment.
A passion for teaching and a genuine desire to help children reach their full potential.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable: Experience in supporting children with additional needs (SEN).
Knowledge of current initiatives and best practices in primary education.
