In this role you will be responsible for controlling and coordinating the company’s service purchasing, inventory and logistics. The inventory aspect revolves primarily around supervision of supply, storage and accessibility of items in order to insure an adequate supply without excessive oversupply, where the logistics aspect involves the integration of information, transportation, material handling, and packing between the point of origin and the point of consumption in order to meet the requirements of our customers. You will also proactively coordinate and deliver the requirements of the purchasing team.
The successful candidate must have a dynamic work attitude with the ability to work as part of a team is essential.
Duties & Responsibilities:
General Performance & Delivery
1. This is an extremely busy role where you will be involved in placing orders with suppliers in line with forecasts, our stock and information from the Scheduling team, progress chasing to ensure timely delivery of stock, resolving supplier queries, communicating stock levels.
2. To manage your customer’s expectations to the pre-defined levels of service.
Inventory
1. To ensure the ongoing & timely communication with key internal departments.
2. To collect and present qualitative and accurate measurements of our inventory holdings, offering clear visibility to the business.
3. To proactively manage our component replenishment lead times within the KPI’s set. Minimum system stock levels & availability from suppliers.
4. To control both Emerson’s returns and defective goods procedures.
5. To assist with our Crash Kit replenishment process.
6. To assist with the management of duplication, obsolescence & non moving stock.
7. To assist with the company’s asset management & its maintenance. (tools & specialist test equipment)
8. To proactively understand our storage space demands for inventory.
9. To ensure quality management practices are adhered to.
10. To ensure environmental demands are adhered to.
The successful balancing of these competing requirements should lead to optimal inventory levels, which will be an on-going task as the business needs shift and react to the wider environment.
Logistics
1. To control the timely return of our Crash kits.
2. To control our reverse logistics procedure for Non Crash Kit inventory.
3. To assist with monitoring our logistics business partners/solutions, both in terms of performance and cost.
4. Working with the Service Supply Chain Supervisor you will review our current courier solution/s.
5. You will be responsible for coordinating our internal specialist test equipment loan/hire items being sent and returned to customers.
6. You may also be responsible for coordinating our internal tooling items being sent and returned to engineers.
Purchasing
1. To raise Purchase Orders in a timely manner, updating the system SR’s as necessary.
2. To assist with our cost reduction activities for process improvements, materials & other supply functions, tracking raw material costs and market trends.
3. To aid with reporting on supplier performance, on measurement criteria in accordance with business requirements.
4. To assist with the development of internal systems and procedures, with respect to MRP, stock control and forecasting.
5. To assist with implementation and delivery of a procurement strategy for legacy products.
6. You may also be responsible for proactively controlling our rebates.
QHSE
1. To assist with ensuring that all our suppliers, contractors and subcontractors are vetted, approved and appropriate for use.
2. To assist where possible to minimise gas & electricity consumption, reduce landfill waste and incur no major environmental events.
3. Where possible to increase awareness of the management system and elements of operation. health and safety and environmental management.
Reporting
1. To assist the National Service Supply Chain Supervisor with any reporting requirements.
2. Compliance to all/any QHSE requirements.
3. All KPI’s and reports will be discussed and agreed with yourself.
Interactions:
Customers, Schedulers, National Service Supply Chain Supervisor, Regional Operations teams, Key Accounts, Technical Support staff, Service Contract Sales, Product Operations, Sub contract Service Providers & Suppliers.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Experience of a similar inventory/warehouse/logistics background.
2. Knowledge of basic planning, forecasting and stock projection principles.
3. Awareness of warehouse and logistic processes and procedures.
4. Strong focus on customer satisfaction.

7. Commercially astute with good negotiation skills.
8. Ability to successfully interface with various departments and personnel in potentially stressful situations.
