People Development Specialist
Location: Hybrid working
Perm/FTC: Permanent
Hours: 37 hrs
Salary: Up to £41,000 based on experience
Southern Water are looking for a People Development Specialist to join our fantastic Talent Development team. This role designs and delivers the standard of career development interventions, processes, and systems to enable Southern Water to achieve its vision. It will influence, challenge, and drive the achievement of business strategy and plans by enabling people to feel connected, informed and motivated about their role, achieve success, and facilitate high performance by delivering a wide range and scope career development interventions.
As part of this role, you will:
1. Embed the Career Development tactical initiatives, action plans and processes within the business, which support the business’s objectives and key results. Provide expertise, reporting and insights in career development to key stakeholders and People Partners, including succession planning, apprentices, high potential programmes, competency frameworks, performance management, and other early careers activities.
2. Build effective, collaborative working relationships with key business stakeholders and People Partners to implement tactical interventions for career development.
3. Manage the apprenticeship (growth and skills) levy, to ensure it is utilised effectively and efficiently.
4. Designs and delivers business-wide learning interventions for career development. This includes being responsible for succession planning, apprentices, high potential programmes, competency frameworks, performance management, and other early careers activities.
5. Provides coaching to employees to empower them to develop and improve their performance and/or behaviours.
6. Provides expert knowledge in application of psychometric testing and/or behavioural profiling for employees.
You will be able to make this role your own and input new ideas, working with a passionate and enthusiastic People Development team, taking ownership of designing and delivering talent initiatives and programmes.

You will have knowledge of current thinking in HR issues and evidence of CPD with experience of designing, implementing, and managing learning & development activities and have knowledge of apprenticeship levy
Qualifications
13. CIPD qualification or equivalent
14. Experience with learning and development
15. Behavioural profiling or psychometric testing qualification
16. Coaching qualification and/or experience
