Our client, a well-established fashion supplier and retailer, now has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Import Merchandiser to lead their merchandising team in great offices!
The Role
* This role combines strategic planning, supplier relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration to optimise the company's global supply chain.
* Maintain clear and accurate reporting to develop business strategies and meet company KPIs.
* Act as a gatekeeper to oversee the end-to-end import process, from purchase orders to end destination, managing risk proactively.
* Responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the production and critical path for the merchandising team.
* Overseeing weekly critical path meetings with merchandisers and tech teams, providing status updates on each line.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with international suppliers. Resolve conflicts or issues with suppliers promptly and effectively.
* Evaluate supplier performance and ensure adherence to agreed service levels and quality standards.
* Build strong relationships with key clients, including face-to-face meetings. Manage customer orders on key accounts, ensuring all queries are answered and issues are resolved.
* Manage a team of two merchandisers and part-time admin support.
* Lead, mentor, and develop the team to achieve departmental objectives.
* Identify individual and team training requirements ensuring soft and technical skills are developed fully to maximise productivity.
* Ensure department's efficient use and development of software, ERP, and Power BI.
* Proactively identify and lead process improvements within the department.
* Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Skills Required
* Established Import/Wholesale Merchandiser.
* Motivated, resourceful, problem solver with an ability to make commercial decisions.
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
* Knowledge and confidence of Microsoft Office 365 and MS Teams, Advanced Excel VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables.
* Proficiency in ERP systems, supply chain management software and Power BI is preferred.
* Analytical mindset with a focus on cost optimisation and efficiency.
* Leadership and team-building abilities.
* Must have a flexible approach to work and be highly organised.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
