An exciting opportunity has arisen and we are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to support the current Business Manager in all aspects of practice functionality, ensuring the Practice achieves its objectives in a safe and effective working environment.
The contracted hours will be 28.5 - 30 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
* Oversee the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
* Provide leadership and guidance to all staff ensuring that they adhere to policy and procedure at all times, whilst fostering a positive and productive working environment.
* Review and regularly update job descriptions and person specifications ensuring all staff are legally and gainfully employed.
* Act as the lead for recruitment including pre-employment checks and DBS.
* Engage with patients to gather feedback and improve services.
* Lead the management of the Patient Participation Group.
* Implement the complaints process, ensuring complaints are dealt with in a timely manner and, where necessary, escalated to the next level.
* Maintain the significant event database, providing advice to staff and briefing the team at meetings as required.
* Guide the team to reach QOF targets (supported by the nursing and administrative leads).
* Brief clinicians on performance levels, advising actions to ensure high achievement across all QOF areas.
* Manage contracts for and highlight issues with services.
* Monitor and disseminate information on safety alerts and other pertinent information.

Bewick Road Surgery is a 5 partner GP Practice, based in Central Gateshead. We are a very busy, fast-paced teaching Practice with approximately 8,000 patients.
We have a fantastic team of GPs, nurse practitioners, nurses, and administration staff who all work together to provide the best possible health care for our patients.

Qualifications
* Educated to A-level/equivalent or higher with relevant experience.
Experience
* NHS Experience.
* Excellent leadership skills.
* Experience of managing multidisciplinary teams.
* Experience of performance management, including annual appraisals, staff development and disciplinary procedures.
* Experience of successfully implementing positive change.
* Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Experience of working within primary care.
* Experience of working on EMIS Web.
