GSL Education are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a renowned school in Poole. As a Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant, you will collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists to support students’ academic, social, and emotional development. Your role will be instrumental in creating an inclusive classroom where every child feels valued and supported. SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN, adapting learning materials to meet their individual needs. Assist in implementing Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and Individual Healthcare Plans (IHCPs). Support students in developing communication, social, and behavioural skills. Work closely with teachers to modify lessons and resources to ensure accessibility for all students. Encourage independence and confidence through structured routines and positive reinforcement. Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents. Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment. Requirements Needed for a SEN TA: Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally working with SEN students. A relevant qualification such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3, or equivalent. Knowledge of Special Educational Needs and strategies to support SEN students effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with students, staff, and parents. Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting children with additional needs. Organisational skills to manage tasks and adapt to varying requirements.
