Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and maintain the quality management systems (QMS) in the laboratory, ensuring compliance with national and international standards.
* Lead and manage audits to ensure quality standards are met and continuously improved.
* Monitor and report on key quality indicators and implement corrective and preventive actions when necessary.
* Collaborate with senior staff to review and improve laboratory practices, ensuring efficient workflows and patient safety.
* Provide training and guidance to laboratory staff on quality control procedures and best practices.
* Ensure documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
* BSc in Biomedical Science (or equivalent qualification) and registration with the HCPC (Health & Care Professions Council).
* Proven experience working as a Biomedical Scientist in a clinical laboratory setting, with a strong understanding of quality control and assurance systems.
* Experience with ISO 15189, UKAS, and other relevant quality standards is highly desirable.
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify areas for improvement.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
