Carnbrooke is a family-owned business, working from our facility in Lisburn. We are a Food Service supplier to over 300 hotels and restaurants throughout NI. We are now in the position to advertise for a talented and enthusiastic Business Development Manager.
The Role
Our Business Development Manager plays a vital role in the ongoing success of our company by continuously developing new and maintaining existing customer relationships throughout NI. We service a wide variety of customers including some of the most prestigious hotels and restaurants throughout Northern Ireland. This results in the sales role being varied and exciting in nature – with our services flexible enough to cater for each different type of account. You will invest time in fact-finding with the customers to understand their current spending strategies and then work closely with operations and procurement to provide best-in-class products and services.
Main Duties
1. Sell to new customers: You will be responsible for driving sales of Carnbrooke products in the NI food service market, which are aligned with the sales strategy defined by the Managing Director. You will lead sales pitches, follow-ups, support negotiations, alongside onboarding.
2. Manage & Grow accounts: You will be the key contact for food service accounts, responsible for supporting and growing our products within their business.
3. Manage the relationships, including training, sales material supply, and performance.
4. Work closely with all Carnbrooke internal departments following a one-team approach with Accounts, Quality Control, Telesales, and Operations.
5. You will be the front-line face of Carnbrooke, building customer relations and acting as an ambassador in everything you do.
6. Measure and communicate results: You will be responsible for measuring and hitting key metrics and communicating performance to senior management and internal teams including margins and sales.
7. Create a monthly journey plan of customer visits, actions, and follow-up requirements.
Person Specification
Criteria
1. Possess 3 years proven field sales experience with the ability to network and develop new business ideally from within the foodservice/FMCG sector.
2. We would be particularly interested in strong, experienced candidates, with a background working within Foodservice wholesale.
3. Candidates must be commercially minded, but with a strong customer service ethos and strong relationship-building skills.
4. Skill to manage tasks & projects independently.
5. Ability to show initiative and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
