Job Description HS2 is Britain's new high-speed railway connecting London and Birmingham. It is the first new intercity railway to be built north of London in more than a century. At HS2, we offer a variety of two-year rotational graduate programmes across various disciplines, providing graduates with opportunities to learn, grow and develop in their area of expertise. We currently have three graduate opportunities available in our Procurement and Supply Chain Teams, based at our Snow Hill Offices in Birmingham, with opportunities available to undertake placements and attend events and activities at other HS2 offices/sites, therefore travel will be required. Over your 2-year development programme, you will have the opportunity to experience four distinct roles across the Procurement and Supply Chain directorate, gaining valuable insight into procurement, contract management, commercial strategy and supply chain. Throughout the programme, you'll develop a comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end procurement process, focusing on cost efficiencies, strategic excellence, and contract negotiations. Our aim is to equip you with the skills and experiences needed to thrive in your career. Below are some examples of the placements you may undertake during the programme: Supply Chain Management : Responsible for delivering early market engagement, market intelligence and supplier risk management. Engaging with the HS2 supply chain to build a robust, resilient and reliable supply chain, identifying opportunities for efficiency, carbon reduction, safe supply chain management and transfer of procurement and engagement best practice. Supplier Relationship Management : Responsible for enhancing existing contract arrangements with strategic suppliers through closer working at a corporate or parent company level. In this way both HS2 and the suppliers can deliver a range of additional benefits, over and above those included in the contract. Corporate Procurement : Responsible for leading on the procurement of services and goods for the organisation in support of delivery of the railway. Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures, whilst offering leadership, advice and guidance on all aspects of the procurement lifecycle, from developing procurement strategies and managing tenders through to contract award. Stations Procurement : Responsible for driving the strategy and process to deliver the procurement of the remaining un-let stations and common components. Commercial Strategy : Responsible for providing commercial advice where there is significant change to the programme, contracts or scope of the requirements. This includes, commercial and cost analysis, technical advice on contracts and associated supply chain impacts. Corporate Contract Management : All of HS2's corporate contracts have a 'lifecycle' that consists of several stages - design, mobilisation, delivery and then exit/transition to a new replacement contract, how well each of these elements are managed can make the difference between success and failure. The CCM team are responsible for several enabling activities that span the contract lifecycle Third-Party Agreements : Third Parties are the asset owners impacted by or who impact the HS2 programme. The Third-Party Agreements Team are responsible for providing cross organisational and whole life cycle support for Third Party activities, including commercial and contract management, establishing new agreements, securing wider legacy benefits and unlocking constraints and opportunities. Upon successful completion of the graduate programme, you will have achieved a CIPS Level 4 Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply Chain.
